DLC Newsletter: October 2007
Time to Register for DLC Conferences
Both of the following conferences are grant-funded, which means they're free for participants! Teacher2Teacher, on October 22-24 at the Puget Sound Center for Teaching, Learning & Technology in Bothell, is a professional development opportunity for Western Washington educators. Using the concepts of peer coaching, Teacher2Teacher provides educators with the skills and support needed to use DLC resources in meaningful ways and to share their knowledge with others.

This conference is a professional development opportunity for DLC member-schools that will focus on integrating online resources into the classroom curriculum to support students' academic success and creating and sustaining school-based professional development.

Training and Check-ins
The best way to learn the inner workings of a DLC resource is through training:
If you're a returning school, DLC staff will be contacting you about a fall check-in to see how things are going. Talk to you soon!
Tutors for Students
We're renamed the DLC Student Mentor Program to, simply, DLC Tutors. If you have students who would benefit from some extra help with schoolwork, encourage them to sign up. And please pass along this DLC Tutors highlight to your students: http://www.learningcommons.org/about/highlights/2007/09/tutors.php
