The Innovative Practices for Student Achievement, hosted by the Digital Learning Commons and OSPI, will be a day of collaboration and insight into how online technologies are changing the shape of education here in Washington. Each year the conference provides an in-depth look at online resources in Washington State and how they are helping to transform teaching and learning. The conference also provides a meaningful look at Powerful Teaching and an interactive workshop on Peer Coaching.

Although much of the work of the Digital Learning Commons was moved to OSPI, the DLC is still functioning in a limited capacity, including funding and hosting events like this. The conference will highlight select resources that are now available through the Digital Learning Department of OSPI.

If you are interested in presenting, please review our Call for Presenters.

About the Presentations

  • Classroom Stories: Practitioner presentations will provide examples of how various online resources are used in the classroom. You'll see concrete examples of real classroom situations where DLD resources and Powerful Teaching concepts improved student achievement.
  • Peer Coaching: We'll explore the value of Peer Coaching through the use of interactive exercises that demonstrate the importance of communication skills in collaborative work.
  • Resource Highlights: These sessions provide quick "how-to" information on specific resources currently offered through the Digital Learning Department at OSPI.

Travel and Lodging

Although there is no registration fee to attend this event, we are not able to assist with the cost of travel and lodging for attendees. We do provide a small travel stipend to presenters. If you would like to be considered please submit the Call for Presenters form.

While we can not provide lodging support for out of town guests, the Extended Stay Deluxe is close to the center and provides fairly good rates. Be sure to inquire about a state discount.
