About Online Courses

The DLC offers online courses as an option to help schools meet students' individual needs, expand learning opportunities, and diversify their curricula. Read on for more details.

• 300+ online courses for grades 6–12 are offered through 6 high-quality course providers in the following categories:
  • Core subjects
  • Credit recovery
  • Electives
  • Advanced placement (AP)
  • Foreign languages
  • Technical and vocational skills
  • English as a Second Language (ESL)
  • College-credit offerings
• Courses are taught by online instructors who are certified to teach the subject.
• Credits for online courses are granted through the student's school.
• Schools determine which courses are available to their students and which students are eligible to take online courses.
• Student success in online courses is supported by a school-based Teacher/Mentor and Registrar and online Student Mentors.
