Course Demos

The course demos and materials made available by our course providers can give your students a better understanding of what's expected from them in online learning. Encourage your students to explore these offerings.

You might also consider using a course demo or activity as an in-class exercise to expose students to online courses. Or try out a demo yourself to get a better sense of what's expected of online students.

Aventa Learning lets students try out some sample activities. They'll need Macromedia Flash and Shockwave Players to access these activities.

Aventa Learning also offers demos of a regular course, an AP course, and a credit recovery course. The course syllabus for Algebra 1 (credit recovery) explains how students can earn credit without having to retake the entire course. Students can log in using "wdlc" for username and password.

Internet Academy offers four sample courses and a sample orientation. Students simply click on Login to get in.

Virtual High School lets students follow a virtual student through an online course. Click on Day in the Life, then choose Student. Students can also try a NetCourse demo. When you get the "Access Denied" message, click the Login button and enter "demouser" for both username and password.

Spokane Virtual Learning provides access to sample units of their Integrated Math and AP Music History courses, their WASL Math and WASL Reading modules and their full student orientation. Log in using "demo" for both the username and password, then click on 'Course Demo'.
