DLC Drop Policy

Drop requests submitted to the DLC:

Prior to the online course's start date will not be assessed any drop fees.
Within the first 10 school days of an online course's start date will be assessed a drop fee of 25% of the course cost. See note below about Univ. of Washington Extension courses.
After the first 10 school days of an online course's start date will be assessed a drop fee of 100% of the course cost.

Reimbursement of the cost of materials for a dropped course is subject to the return policies of the providers and is not guaranteed.

To submit a drop, enter the online registration system.

The "start date" selected for Univ. of Washington Extension (UWE) courses during the registration process determines the date on which the registration will be sent to the provider. UWE registration processing may take up to one week. Therefore:

Drops for UWE courses must be submitted to the DLC within two weeks of the processing/start date to be eligible for the 75% course fee reimbursement.
Students who wish to drop their UWE course must submit a written request to the DLC in addition to the drop request submitted via the DLC registration system; students should be warned that the drop will be counted in their total allowance of UW drops.
