Registering Students in Virtual High School (VHS) Courses
Only schools with VHS-eligible Teacher/Mentors are able to enroll students in a VHS course. According to our current partnership agreement with VHS, Teacher/Mentors are VHS-eligible if they have successfully completed either a) the VHS Site Coordinator online training, OR b) the DLC Course Support and the DLC VHS Course Support phone orientations. Teacher/Mentors who have met these requirements and have signed the VHS Site Coordinator contract are given login access to requisite VHS grading and materials tracking systems and have been designated as VHS eligible in the DLC registration system. This allows Registrars to select VHS courses for students.
VHS Logins
Once the Registrar has registered a student in a VHS course, he/she is able to provide the student with his/her VHS course login information. This information can be found two ways:
- Click the appropriate term under "View Existing Registrations" on the registration homepage:
- Locate the student's VHS registration in the list of course registrations
- Click the corresponding VHS "Help" link to see where and how a student logs in to a VHS course
- Click "View School Roster" from the Registration homepage:
- Find and click on the student's name in the list.
- From there, click the VHS "Help" link to see where and how a student logs in to a VHS course.
After the student's registration is listed as "Enrolled" in the DLC registration system, the DLC recommends that Registrars send VHS students an email to their DLC email account to provide them with their VHS course start date and login information. This helps maintain consistency for you and your students, since welcome messages containing course login information from other course providers are sent to the DLC email account.
