Course Support Team Member Sign-Up

Welcome to DLC Course Support. We need to know a bit more about you, and you need a UW NetID to access our online registration system. So please complete the form below. After submitting this form, you will automatically receive your UW NetID (write this down!) and instructions for creating a password.

Fill out carefully! This information feeds into online course registrations for students at your school. Typos and incorrect personal email and phone information create communication obstacles for course providers. Upon completion of this form, you will receive an email prompting you to sign up for the Course Support phone orientation.

The Registrar is a member of the school staff (usually guidance counseling staff) who is authorized to advise students on the selection of their courses. Adhering to school online course implementation policies, the DLC Registrar:

  • Promotes the availability of online courses to students, school staff, and parents.
  • Helps students find the right course.
  • Performs online course registration.
  • Maintains the school's online course student roster.
  • Is the contact for the provider and the DLC for questions regarding enrollment.

Schools may have multiple Teacher/Mentors (T/Ms), but should have only one Registrar (although the T/M can fill both roles). Registrars are always included in DLC Course Support communications.

Teacher/Mentors (T/Ms) work closely with the online student to ensure a positive and successful experience in their courses by:

  • Monitoring student performance and progress.
  • Assisting with use of technology and logging in to the course.
  • Facilitating communication and fostering student relationship with the instructor.
  • Assisting with course participation procedures and gathering student grades.
  • Providing feedback to the DLC about processes, offerings, and course providers.

T/Ms do not need to be subject-matter experts (although some course providers recommend this for students at the AP level). T/Ms are always included in DLC Course Support communications.

(Optional) Please take a moment to tell DLC Course Support a little about your school and your priorities for offering online courses to your students. This information will help us to provide better context in your Course Support orientation for offering online courses to your students.

How would you describe your school/program? your online students? (ie. small alternative program; online students will be taking credit recovery or core courses needed to graduate)

How does your school/program intend to support students taking online courses? (ie. provide regularly scheduled access to a computer lab and the student's Teacher/Mentor)
