DLC Tutors
Every student at a DLC-member school can work with a DLC Tutor. Students who are taking an online course through the DLC will automatically be matched with a tutor. Otherwise, students can sign up via the registration form in the Students section of the site.
Highlights of the DLC Tutors Program
- Expertise: DLC Tutors are high-achieving students themselves and experts in their subject areas, which include the humanities, social studies, math, science, business, vocational technology, and foreign languages (French, Spanish, German, Japanese, and Latin).
- Enthusiasm: DLC Tutors respond to messages every weekday and are excited to help students with their schoolwork and academic pursuits. Since DLC Tutors are college students or recent college graduates, they can relate to students on their level -- making correspondence educational and fun.
- Security: Student security is a high priority at the DLC, which is why our DLC Tutors are carefully selected and have passed criminal background checks. We've also partnered with Gaggle.net to provide students and their tutors with a secure and monitored email service that archives correspondence, filters inappropriate content, and blocks messages from all but a select list of email addresses.
DLC Tutors are ready to assist your students with individualized WASL help using WASL-oriented and standards-aligned DLC resources. Have your students register today to take advantage of this valuable service.
Teacher/Mentors looking for creative ways to help support their online students' studies can now sign up to work with a tutor. Register and see for yourself the great support this program offers.
