Customized Training and Workshops

Choose from the following customizable training and workshops to fit your school's needs.

Resource Training

Resource training is hands-on and computer-based. The focus can be on anything from a single DLC resource to a set of resources to solving an educational issue with the resources. All of our training sessions are led by a DLC staff member and are designed to support your school's success.

Learn about the strengths and value of a specific DLC resource, or set of resources, and how to best navigate it; and walk away with ideas for classroom implementation. We offer the following types of resource training:

  • Online
  • On-site

Implementation Consultations

We offer both one-on-one and small-group consultations that focus on implementation strategies. Consultations can incorporate aspects of training (see above). The following types of consultations are available:

  • All-Day Support
  • Implementation/Planning Meetings
  • One-on-One Consultation

DLC Demos

Demos are presenter-led demonstrations of the DLC's resources, focusing on their features and mechanics. We're happy to provide demos in a variety of settings, including:

  • Parent Nights
  • Departmental/Content Training/Focus
  • Community Events (e.g., College Bound, SPS, Gear Up)
  • Informational Meetings (for non-member schools)

Request a demo.

Workshops

Workshops are issue-based and focus on DLC resources and tools that offer solutions. Workshops are hands-on, computer-based, and interactive.

The following workshops can be tailored to your school's needs or co-created from scratch with school staff. They can also be extended into multiday retreats or as highly-localized "work parties," with DLC staff providing support to a district- or school-developed workshop.

Train the Trainer

This two-day workshop helps schools develop support of DLC resources. Participants gain an understanding of DLC resources from a trainer's perspective and learn how to use coaching and collaboration to promote the use of DLC resources in support of their schools' academic goals.

Teacher2Teacher

This intensive workshop begins with a three-day retreat and includes two-follow up sessions. Teacher2Teacher is collaborative, hands-on, activity-based professional development that trains teacher leaders in (1) technology integration, (2) powerful teaching theory and practice, (3) and peer coaching.

Lesson Improvement Process

This two-day workshop teaches a lesson improvement process that uses both powerful teaching concepts and technology integration skills. Participants work in collaborative teams to improve a single classroom lesson with DLC resources, and then provide each other with feedback.
