Maximize the use of DLC resources in your school. Attend our Train the Trainer Workshop, a professional development opportunity for staff from DLC member-schools who want to play a more active role in providing DLC assistance and support in their local schools and/or districts. Local support, in combination with DLC training, is a sure way to make the most of your DLC membership.

The January Train the Trainer Workshop will take place directly before the January OSPI Conference.

Clock Hours

Sixteen clock hour credits at $2.00/credit will be available through Puget Sound Center for those who attend the full event.

Workshop Highlights

Participants will:

  • Receive in-depth training on DLC resources.
  • Understand the alignment of DLC resources with the components of powerful teaching and learning.
  • Learn coaching skills that promote wider use of DLC resources.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a training outline for use in your school setting.

Laptop Requirements

Please bring your own laptop, which should have:

  • Internet capability (wireless or a network card). Note: Many school districts have locked down the network access. Please make sure you will be able to access other wireless networks if you are bringing a district machine.
  • A current web browser installed: Internet Explorer 6/7, Firefox 1.5+, or Safari 2.0+.
  • Microsoft Office
  • Current versions of common browser plugins, including: Windows Media Player, RealPlayer, Apple Quicktime, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Adobe (Macromedia) Flash Player, Adobe (Macromedia) Shockwave.
  • DLC Toolbar:

Please install both toolbars if you have both browsers on your laptop. If you are unsure, consult with your building's tech person. If you have any problems installing the toolbars, consult with your building's tech person or contact the DLC.

Travel, Lodging, and Food

Participants will need to arrange their own lodging and transportation. The DLC will provide meals and snacks during the event. Participants are responsible for housing, travel, and any meal costs outside of the workshop.

Note: This Train the Trainer Workshop is not to be confused with Teacher2Teacher (T2T).
